Writing
My nonfiction—essays, profiles, book reviews, reportage—has appeared in publications ranging from Cincinnati Magazine to The New York Times. The many subjects I’ve written about include an architecturally significant widow, a group of old nuns trying to recruit new ones, a cat who died, another cat who died, the time I performed a poultry-based miracle in Mexico, my love for Tove Ditlevsen’s The Copenhagen Trilogy, my former love for smoking, and the trip to London I almost ruined by acting like an iceberg. • My short fiction has appeared in The Missouri Review (where my first published story won the Editors’ Prize for Fiction) and American Short Fiction, and is forthcoming in The Georgia Review. I was a finalist for the 2025 Story Foundation Prize and am the grateful recipient of a 2026 Individual Artist Fellowship award from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. I’m currently working on a novel.
